Imagine being the tallest player on the team and being stuck and limited to only playing one position, or a guard only limited to the position because of his height. As the next year approaches, the other kids have hit their growth spurt and now you the post player, you have to play guard with no guard skills or post position with no post skill.
This is why 3X3 is a fantastic sport for developing more versatile players. With a 12 second shotclock, you are forced to learn how to be a better shooter, slasher, and finisher around the rim. Often kids looking to develop their game for 5X5 don’t get in the game as often and when they do they have limited touches. There is NO hiding. Having 2 games per week (15 mins run-time each) for lots if not all will be more ball touches, defensive opportunities, off ball actions that you will get in 5×5.
For this league, there are NO head coaches. This is a league designed for the players to develop their game and learn how to think the game through each play.
Players must communicate live on the floor or in between dead ball situations as well as have the opportunity to huddle up during a timeout.
